Prisma Media: Acquisition of Groupe Cerise

Prisma Media is acquiring Groupe Cerise, one of the leading digital media companies in the moving image field in France. Due to this acquisition the G+J subsidiary will become market leader among France’s media companies in regard of video coverage (with 7.5 million Unique User monthly) and will move up to third place among the media groups regarding mobile coverage (9.1 million Unique User).

Groupe Cerise will be benefitting on the one hand from Prisma Media’s strong market position in the increase of its market share in France and on the other hand worldwide from the presence of the respective Gruner + Jahr and Bertelsmann-teams in around 50 countries.

The international media company develops own technologies to produce and distribute content and thus reaches a very broad audience with its brands. With more than 50 million visits per month Cerise is positioned among the top ten of digital media groups (OJD). With the launch of and in Spain, Germany and Portugal in 2015 the company aims to become a worldwide relevant player in the entertainment segment.
