As publishers we are facing competition from international networks, that offer highly standardized, easy to buy media solutions with elaborate targeting options. National initiatives like data alliances or booking platforms are only a partial answer to the pan-European or even global offer of these platforms.
The Corona crisis has added pressure. Significant losses in advertising revenues are demanding cost measures from advertisers as well as from publishers. We are running risk to again lose revenues to global competition that offers more efficient solutions.
Our challenges are new and more demanding than ever before. It will require a team effort to tackle the challenges ahead. The current #StopHateforProfit movement and social media boycott opens a window of opportunity for us.
The Corona crisis has also shown how closely linked we are across Europe. Building a network of leading publishers can tie our efforts together and provide valuable orientation to the executives leading their sales teams through this crisis.
How does it work?
The more complex the situation, the less effective are known standard solution patterns, the higher the need for situation specific solutions. As participant in the Executive Circle for European Publishers, you do not have to find these solutions alone. You can develop and discuss answers for your business in your market together with experts from different countries across Europe. You can rely on the collective intelligence of your peers. And you can find orientation in a period that may be the most challenging of your work life.
